About Interior Demolition

What do you mean by Interior Demolition?

While the words sound extreme, interior demolition doesn’t mean the complete teardown of a home. Demolition of an interior can be anything from removing a non-load bearing wall or floor to removing all surfaces down to the studs if you plan on a major renovation of any area in your home.

Are there risks in interior demolition?

Demolishing an interior space presents some potential risks. First, there is the dust and debris. A great deal of dust is created in interior demolition which can contain harmful particles like mold spores, asbestos fibers, lead paint chips, construction debris, and other contaminants. Another risk associated with interior demolition is that it can weaken the structural integrity of your home or building if not done properly. Finally, there are electrical hazards associated with interior demolition work.

What preparations do I need to make before the FDM crew arrives to do the interior demolition?

Although we remove all your furniture, we ask our customers to remove all the contents or personal items in or sitting on top of your furniture. We recommend removing all items in your pantry and closets. All valuable and breakable items sitting inside furniture like China cabinets, must be removed by the owner. We recommend you contact a vendor who specializes in moving pool tables and pianos as we are not trained in the unique set up and calibrations required for these items.

What do you mean by Essentially Dust-Free?

Obviously we can’t guarantee or promise a 100% dustless removal process; however, our system and process is capable of collecting around 1 pound of dust per sq. ft. when removing tile and stone flooring. So “Essentially” means you can’t do any better with any other process or company. We do it right! We do it best!

How much can you demolish?

Whether you are seeking to remove individual features or radically change the layout of your house, we will remove every part of the building that stands in the way. In doing so, we make sure to keep the structure of the building strong and clean up all debris, minimizing any health or safety risks to your family.

What do you do with the waste?

The waste is removed from your home or business in one of three ways: 1) we have our own dump trailer that we bring to the job site. In most cases, this is sufficient. 2) we order A 20-yard dumpster to be placed on your property (with your permission of course) or 3) in some counties, there is a service called Bagster
